!

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to arrange a loan for you

None of our partner banks will grant a loan if you have active debt enforcement proceedings, certificates of loss, seizures or a negative ZEK entry.

What you can do: Get your credit rating in order - e.g. by paying off outstanding debts and deleting them from the ZEK after the deadline has expired. After that, nothing stands in the way of an enquiry.

    How it works

Credit application in Switzerland - with real bank guidelines instead of marketing promises

Unlike traditional comparison portals that show you the cheapest interest rates and leave it up to you to decide whether the bank will actually accept you, CredXperts checks the specific lending criteria of each Swiss credit bank in the background. So you don't see "theoretical" conditions, but real answers to the question: Which bank will grant me a loan - and which won't?

    1

    Your details (≈ 2 minutes)

14 steps guide you through the relevant factors for Swiss banks: loan amount, term, marital status, residence status, income, housing situation, health insurance premium, existing obligations. No tricks, no hidden fields.

    Live Bank Matching

As you fill in the form, our system checks the real minimum criteria of Cembra Money Bank, Bank-now, Migros Bank, Cornér Banca and BOB Finance. You can see immediately which bank is suitable, with which interest margin, which monthly instalment - and if a bank is not suitable, why not.

    Prerequisites

Who can obtain a personal loan in Switzerland?

The Consumer Credit Act (KKG) is the basis: a loan is only permitted if it is affordable without over-indebtedness (Article 3 KKG). The banks are obliged to examine each enquiry individually. Here are the basic requirements that apply to all our banking partners:

    Basic requirements for all banks

    • Residence in Switzerland - c/o addresses are excluded at BOB Finance, accepted to a limited extent at other banks
    • Minimum age 18 years - Bank-now accepts only from the age of 20
    • Maximum age 65 years upon conclusion of the contract
    • Regular income from an employment relationship - at least CHF 2,500 net (Cembra) or CHF 3,500 net (Cornér Banca)
    • Good credit rating - No active debt enforcement proceedings, certificates of loss or seizures
    • No negative ZEK entry - ZEK is the central Swiss credit database
    • Minimum loan amount CHF 5,000 - with Bank-now and Migros Bank: CHF 10,000
    • Maximum term 84 months - only BOB Finance permitted up to 120 months

    Interest rates and conditions 2026

What does a personal loan cost in Switzerland?

Swiss consumer credit conditions are strictly regulated. The maximum interest rate is set annually by the Federal Council and in 2026 will be 11 % effective annual interest rate (for consumer loans). Our banking partners typically offer effective rates of between 5.8 % and 9.9 % - depending on creditworthiness, homeowner status and bank.

Interest rates of our banking partners at a glance

BankStandard interest fromHome ownership bonusMax. Running timeMax. Loan amount
    Cembra Money Bank5,9 %-84 monthsCHF 350,000

    Migros Bank5,9 %-84 monthsCHF 100,000
    BOB FinanceCRIF score-dependent-120 monthsCHF 80,000

The final conditions are based on the credit rating of the respective bank. A higher credit rating (ZEK/CRIF), home ownership, longer period of employment or lower obligations can lead to better conditions.

    Special cases

Special situations - who still has opportunities

Credit for the self-employed in Switzerland

Self-employed persons are in a category of their own at Swiss banks. Instead of payslips, the banks require the most recent legally binding Tax assessment - it must not be older than 12 months from the date of issue (the reference year itself does not matter, only the date of the tax ruling). Self-employed persons are accepted for Bank-now (unlimited amount within the bank's internal affordability check) and for Cornér Banca (up to CHF 30,000; higher amounts are possible on a case-by-case basis). Cembra, Migros Bank and BOB Finance generally do not grant loans to self-employed persons.

Credit for pensioners and IV recipients

If you receive an AHV pension or an IV pension, you have exactly one option for a personal loan in Switzerland: Bank-now. Cembra, Migros Bank, Cornér Banca and BOB Finance do not offer this segment as standard. When applying, Bank-now requires the AHV/IV pension decree, the pension decree from the pension fund and the last three pension credits.

    Credit for cross-border commuters

Cross-border commuters - people who live in Germany, France, Italy or Austria and work in Switzerland - can only apply to Bank-now receive a loan. The conditions are strict: at least 36 months of cross-border commuter status (G permit) and at least 36 months of employment with the same employer. If you do not fulfil one of the two conditions, it is unfortunately not possible to obtain a loan.

Credit for persons with a B permit

The most frequently asked question by people with a B residence permit (residents): Can I get a loan? The answer depends directly on the length of your stay in Switzerland:

    • At least 12 months in Switzerland: Migros Bank only
    • At least 24 months in Switzerland: Cembra, Bank-now, Cornér Banca, Migros Bank
    • At least 36 months in Switzerland: Additionally BOB Finance

There is a special rule at Bank-now: If you previously had a G permit (cross-border commuter) and the sum of both stays (G + B) is at least 24 months, Bank-now can also grant a loan for a shorter period of pure B residence. You must then present both your current B permit and the old G permit as proof.

    Replace existing loans or leases

If you already have a current consumer loan or lease, you can redeem it with the new loan - often with significant interest savings if your old interest rate is higher. In our funnel, you enter the balance and the current monthly instalment and we automatically include the redemption in the new loan amount. Important: Migros Bank even requires the redemption of current loans with a balance of over CHF 5,000 - this is part of its affordability check. We generally recommend repayment if your old interest rate is higher than the new one.

    When portability is tight

The KKG prohibits loans that would lead to over-indebtedness. If our live affordability calculation shows that your available budget is not sufficient for the desired loan instalment, the system suggests specific adjustments: lower desired amount or longer term. You can immediately see which bank would still approve the loan with which adjusted configuration - and can accept this adjustment with just one click.

    Transparency

    What happens after your enquiry?

We believe in transparency. Here it is clearly stated what happens after clicking on "Send enquiry" - and what deliberately does not happen.

    What we do

    1. Immediately: Your enquiry will be transmitted to credXperts AG in encrypted form (TLS). Within minutes you will receive a confirmation e-mail with your personal reference number (format: KV-YYYYMM-XXXX) and a document checklist tailored to your profile.
    2. Within one working day: A licenced credXperts AG credit advisor will contact you by phone, email or WhatsApp (depending on your preference). They will clarify any outstanding issues and the next steps.
    3. After receipt of your documents: We submit your application to your chosen bank - with your express written consent in accordance with the KKG. Only now will the bank carry out a formal credit check.
    4. If the bank agrees: You will receive the final loan agreement from the bank. Once you have signed it, the loan will be paid out - usually within 24 to 72 hours.
    5. With 14-day right of cancellation: You also have 14 days after conclusion of the contract to withdraw without giving reasons (KKG Art. 16).

    We deliberately don't do that

    • No ZEK enquiry through your online enquiry. A ZEK enquiry only takes place when you actively submit an application to a bank and the bank starts the credit check.
    • No IKO enquiry through your online enquiry - this is also only carried out when the bank formally submits the application.
    • No advertising emails without your express consent. You will only hear from us if you want to.
    • No data forwarding to third parties. Your details are sent exclusively to the bank you have chosen - and only to that bank.
    • No hidden fees. The brokerage is 100 % free of charge for you. credXperts is only remunerated by a commission from the bank if a loan is granted.
    • No obligation. You can cancel at any time before signing the contract.

    Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about the Swiss loan application

Will my enquiry create an entry in the ZEK?

No. The enquiry via credxperts.ch does not trigger a ZEK enquiry. A ZEK enquiry only takes place when you actively decide to submit an application to a bank and the bank starts the formal credit check. This only happens after you have given your express consent during the application process.

Is the loan application really free of charge for me?

Yes, the entire comparison and brokerage process is 100 % free of charge for you. There is no processing fee, no brokerage fee, no hidden costs. credXperts is remunerated exclusively by the bank - by commission, and only if a loan agreement is concluded.

    Which banks do you compare?

We compare the five leading private Swiss credit banks: Cembra Money Bank, Bank-now AG (Migros Group), Migros Bank, Cornér Banca and BOB Finance (Good Finance). All are regulated under the Consumer Credit Act (KKG) and are established in the Swiss market.

How long will it take until I receive an answer from the bank?

After receiving your complete documents, the banks usually check them within 1 to 5 working days. If the documents are complete and clean, most banks will provide an initial response within 48 hours. With BOB Finance and Bank-now, an immediate online check is possible in many cases.

What is the Consumer Credit Act (KKG)?

The KKG is the Swiss federal law on consumer credit. It regulates the granting of consumer credit to private individuals and protects against over-indebtedness (Art. 3 KKG). Banks must check the affordability of each loan before granting it. The KKG also defines the maximum interest rate (2026: 11 % effective for consumer loans, 12 % for credit cards) and the ZEK reporting obligations. credXperts AG works as a licensed broker in compliance with the KKG.

What is the ZEK and how does it work?

The Central Office for Credit Information (ZEK) is a self-regulatory organisation of the Swiss credit industry. It stores information on consumer loans, leasing contracts, credit cards and payment arrears of its members. Banks consult the ZEK before granting a loan - this prevents over-indebtedness. A pure application enquiry such as on credxperts.ch does not trigger a ZEK enquiry.

    What is the IKO?

The Information centre for consumer credit (IKO) is a central database to which banks must report all current consumer loans of CHF 500 or more. It prevents consumers from taking out several loans at the same time without the banks knowing about it. An IKO enquiry is required by law before any loan is granted.

    What is the CRIF score?

CRIF is a credit agency based in Switzerland. The CRIF score is a credit score that reflects your payment behaviour. BOB Finance works heavily with the CRIF score and makes the conditions directly dependent on the score - specific interest rate details are only possible after a score enquiry. If you have a very high CRIF score, you benefit from better interest rates.

What documents do I need for the loan application?

The mandatory documents are: ID (ID or passport), the last 3 payslips, as well as the rental agreement or mortgage statement. Depending on your profile, additional documents may be required: If self-employed, the tax assessment (max. 12 months old), for pensioners the pension decrees and credit notes, for married 2nd applicants the same documents from the spouse. The exact list will be personalised and displayed at the end of the funnel - including optional, non-mandatory documents such as the current health insurance bill.

What is the difference between a 13th month's salary and a bonus?

A 13th monthly salary is contractually guaranteed in the employment contract - you receive it annually, typically in November or December. Banks deduct it in full from your eligible monthly income (gross annual salary ÷ 12). A Bonus on the other hand, is not guaranteed, but depends on performance or business success. Banks typically only offset 50 % of bonuses against income. Enter both correctly so that the affordability calculation is correct.

Can I redeem an existing loan or lease?

Yes, redemption is possible with all our banking partners and often makes sense because you benefit from a more favourable new interest rate. You can indicate in the funnel that you would like to redeem - we will automatically include the balance in the new loan amount and the old instalment will be removed from your affordability. Migros Bank even makes it compulsory to redeem current loans with a balance of over CHF 5,000.

What is the maximum loan amount in Switzerland?

There is no legal upper limit for consumer loans in Switzerland - the amount is limited by affordability. In practice, our banking partners offer loans between CHF 5,000 and CHF 350,000. Cembra Money Bank has the highest maximum amount (CHF 350,000), followed by Bank-now (CHF 250,000), Cornér Banca (CHF 150,000), Migros Bank (CHF 100,000) and BOB Finance (CHF 80,000).

What happens if my portability is not enough?

Our funnel shows you the affordability live. If your desired instalment exceeds the available budget, we suggest specific adjustments: lower desired amount or longer term. You can accept the proposed adjustment with one click and immediately see which bank you will receive. This way you avoid rejections due to affordability.

Am I entitled to apply to my spouse - and will he or she be informed?

The following applies to married applicants: Swiss banks are obliged under the KKG to inform the spouse about the loan application - even if the spouse is not registered as a co-applicant. You can indicate in the funnel whether you would like to register your partner as a second applicant - this often increases your creditworthiness because the family income is taken into account in full.

How long is my enquiry valid?

A specific request typically remains valid for 30 days at the selected bank. If your situation changes in the meantime (new job, different income, new place of residence), you can submit an updated enquiry at any time - free of charge and without any disadvantages.

    Who is behind credxperts.ch?

credxperts.ch is a platform of the credXperts AGa credit broker domiciled in Switzerland and regulated under the KKG. We broker consumer loans with Swiss banks and work exclusively on a commission basis - at no cost to you as the end customer.

    Can I withdraw my enquiry?

Yes, at any time. As long as no loan agreement has been signed, you are not obliged to do anything. Even after signing the contract, you have a 14-day right of cancellation without giving reasons (KKG Art. 16). Write to info@credxperts.ch with your reference number (format KV-YYYYMM-XXXX) and we will take care of it immediately.

    How secure is my data?

All data transmissions are encrypted via TLS/HTTPS. The data is stored on servers in Switzerland or in the EU/EEA. Data is only passed on to the bank you have chosen. We do not pass on data to third parties and do not sell data. More on this in the Privacy policy.
